An Intrusive Magnetometer Survey (also known as an Intrusive UXO Survey) is a specialist CPT-based investigation used to detect deep buried ferrous objects, particularly unexploded ordnance (UXO).
A magnetometer probe is hydraulically pushed into the ground using a CPT rig. As it advances, it continuously measures variations in the Earth’s magnetic field. Any ferrous items — create detectable magnetic anomalies that are recorded in real time.
This method is especially effective for clearing individual pile positions or clusters ahead of deep foundation works on both greenfield and brownfield sites.
