Intrusive UXO Surveys

What is an Intrusive UXO Survey

For sites where an elevated UXO risk has been determined, an Intrusive UXO Survey can effectively detect ferrous objects during deep intrusive groundworks, such as piling or deep borehole works. Typically, these surveys are conducted prior to deep foundation works.

A magnetometer probe (cone) is hydraulically pushed into the ground to survey the soil column for deep unexploded ordnance (UXO-UXB). Each survey position provides a clearance column down to the maximum bomb penetration depth or until refusal due to dense natural strata. Thanks to our probe (cone) radius, we can often capture multiple pile locations within a single survey.

Upon completion, a detailed UXO clearance report will be provided by a third-party specialist UXO company.
